Please come along. Something for everyone. More importantly, I’ll be able to show some of the works that simply came from my perspective of being both visually and physically impaired. Still colourful, surreal and thought provoking. Also, beautiful views, accessible gardens and there will be refreshments too.
On Wednesday 17th July, the art department was delighted to invite professional artist Joanne Callaghan and Molly Sutcliffe from Barnwood Trust to work with our student art ambassadors from years 7-10.
The day started off by students grouping into 3 main theme areas that the students had created which were Our World, Identity and Another World. The day was entirely student led and they had to use their ambassador roles to work together collaboratively, generate ideas, project manage and to get messages across to audiences who view their work. The room was alive with discussions around our global environmental crisis, respecting and appreciating differences in culture, gender and religions and what we view in imaginative worlds. 3 very large panels were created and the ambassadors are keen to lead this into further work across the school in September.
FRACKING HELL! is being shown In Newent Art competition. Will be on display for 4 weeks Aug. I’m looking forward to spreading my wings, meeting up with other artists again in the area I’ve moved to.
All workshops, including Schools and Organisations are done on a non profit Basis. I charge for materials and a PA to assist because of my physical limitations. Don’t worry though, I often tutor, run workshops and programmes of 30 or more children. Adults are usually limited to 14 at any one time, This enables me to assist/answer questions and spend time with individuals more easily. However if it was a regular group then we can welcome a few more. Workshops can be from 2 hours – All Day
